Princess Leia, by Carlos Rojas (Tattoosday Goes to Philly)

Last month, at the 20th Annual Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention (@villainarts), I met Chelsea, who shared this classic image of Carrie Fisher's character Princess Leia from the Star Wars saga:

This image is based on Fisher's portrayal of Leia in the original Star Wars film.

Chelsea credited the work to the talented Carlos Rojas (@crojasart), from the Black Anchor Collective in Hesperia, California.

Thanks to Chelsea for sharing this amazing work with us here on Tattoosday!

Princess Leia Portrait by Mike Carro (Tattoosday Goes to Philly)

Last month, at the 20th Annual Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention (@villainarts), I met Frank, who shared this amazingly lifelike tattoo of Carrie Fisher's character Princess Leia:

This image is based on Fisher's portrayal of Leia in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.

Frank credited the work to Mike Carro (@mcarrotattoo) from Undead Ink (@undeadink) in Oceanside, New York.

Check back tomorrow in a few weeks for another Princess Leia tattoo that I spotted at the show!

Thanks to Frank for sharing this amazing work with us here on Tattoosday!

Catherine's Marine Life Leg (Tattoosday Goes to Philly)

Last month, at the 20th Annual Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention (@villainarts), I met Catherine, who had an amazingly colorful right leg:

That's a sea turtle and a jellyfish and, on the back of her calf, is this blue-ringed octopus:

Catherine credited the work to Steve De Los Reyes (@stevedelosreyes) from Ink Kings Tattoo in Otsego, Minnesota.

She explained that the blue-ringed octopus and the jellyfish are two of the most poisonous creatures in the ocean. However, she pointed out, the sea turtle can withstand these animals dangerous venom. She transplants that fact to her own life, and pulls strength from the image of the sea turtle.

Thanks to Catherine for sharing her cool tattoos with us here on Tattoosday!

Jessica's Gecko (Tattoosday Goes to Philly)

As I was wandering the aisles of the 20th Annual Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention (@villainarts) last month, I saw a lot of work in progress. I was excited to see one artist tattooing a gecko on the back of one woman's leg.

I loved the design and asked them to please follow up with me, so I could share the finished work with Tattoosday readers. I was thrilled when the recipient of said tattoo, Jessica, emailed me a photo the following week:

This awesome gecko tattoo was created by Angel Caban (@angelcabanartwork) from Guardian Art Gallery (@guardianartgallery) in Orange, Connecticut.

Jessica explained a little bit more about the tattoo:
"I got the gecko because they are supposed to be lucky for rock climbers and it also has a knot, which we use a lot when we are rock climbing, in the design. Besides that, it had the bonus of a higher chance of being accepted by my parents because my mom likes geckos and lizards."
Thanks to Jessica for sharing this awesome tattoo with us here on Tattoosday!
